10-Mar-18 : CHANGE OF VENUE FOR Club Champs Week 2

Hello folks… unfortunately our track has been closed due to the excessive rain of late and won’t be operational until next week.
Nudgee College has kindly offered us the use of their tartan track to hold Day 2 of our club championships on Saturday.
This is a fantastic opportunity for our athletes to compete on a proper track! This will require more effort from our club as we are providing our own equipment.
If a few extra sets of hands could meet at City North track at 12:30 on Saturday to help load up our equipment trucks… that would be much appreciated. Please email us if you’re able to assist.
Unfortunately if we don’t have enough volunteers, we won’t be able to run the event. We will also need more than usual help at Nudgee track to assist in setting up.
If you are able to arrive at Nudgee at 1:30 that would also be greatly appreciated.
The faster we set up, the quicker we start the program. We are still aiming for our usual warm up time of 2:45 with first events at 3pm.
There will be no canteen this Saturday so ensure you bring all food and drinks for your athletes. Toilet facilities will be available. Unfortunately high jump will not be offered this Saturday.
There will be a no substitutes event for high jump in under 8 girls and boys or under 10 boys. Under 11 boys will substitute high jump for discus and under 13 boys and girls and under 14-17 will substitute high jump for triple jump. We ask that all athletes treat this as a great opportunity and one of privilege and that the utmost respect for the track and surrounds is taken at all times.
